Big Town After Dark is a 1947 American film noir drama film directed by William C. Thomas and written by Whitman Chambers. The film stars Phillip Reed, Hillary Brooke, Richard Travis, Ann Gillis, Vince Barnett, Joe Sawyer and Robert Kent.

An unknown and unstopable vampire terrorizes a middle-European village. The featured players are Lionel Atwill, Fay Wray, Melvyn Douglas and Dwight Frye. Directed by Frank R. Strayer. Released in 1933

Perennial bad guy, Lionel Atwill stars in this mystery, involving murder, a frame up, secret passageways, and a twin brother. I downloaded the source for this movie, from archive.org; and cleaned up the audio a bit.

Public Access TV show "Weirdness Really Bad Movie" hosts public domain movies and ads clean comedy sketches enjoyable for the whole family. Today's film is the East Side Kids 1941 "Spooks Run Wild" with Bela Lugosi.

The copyright expired and was not renewed, so the film fell into "public domain", meaning that virtually anyone could copy it and sell it without having to pay royalties. That's why there are so so many shoddy, badly cut, grainy copies of it on the market, put out mainly by companies that specialize in public-domain films.

In the fourth film of the series, Sherlock Holmes assists the inventor of a revolutionary bomb sight, Dr Tobel, to smuggle his work out of Switzerland and into England. Once in England the bomb sight pieces and the Tobel go missing, leaving Holmes and Watson with code of dancing stick figures to break before Professor Moriarty so they can find the remaining pieces of the weapon.
